P1.2M drugs seized, 7 fall in anti-drugs operations
CEBU, Philippines — At least P1.2 million worth of illegal drugs was seized from a drug personality in a buy-bust operation in F.Llamas St., Barangay Punta Princesa, Cebu City yesterday afternoon.
The suspect was identified as Arnel Tañeza Abayan, 36, a resident of Barangay Duljo Fatima. He is reportedly a new player in the illegal drug trade.
Elements of Labangon Police Station were able to buy one sachet of shabu from Abayan during the operation.
When frisked, they recovered from the suspect’s belt bag 16 medium packs and one big pack of suspected shabu as well as digital weighing scale.
Meanwhile, members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7 raided a drug den in Barangay Cogon Pardo, Cebu City Sunday afternoon that resulted in the arrest of the owner of the den identified as Marlon Romero, 42, and his alleged business partner, Evangeline de la Cruz, 37.
Also arrested were Feliciano L. Barredo Jr., 33, taxi driver; Robert M. Ocampo, 49, construction painter; Elvie A. Villarmente, 42, masseuse; and Gigi C. Saraum, 51, housewife, who were allegedly caught having a sniffing session in the drug den.
