High-value target killed in “shootout”

Gabriel C. Bonjoc - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines —  An alleged drug high-value target was killed after engaging in a shootout with the Talisay City policemen at Sitio Mananga 1, Barangay Tabunok, Talisay City last Tuesday evening.

The suspect, Gilbert “Moros” Aliser, 35, sustained gunshot wounds to the different parts of his body that caused his instantaneous death.

Talisay City Police Chief Marlu Conag said they had conducted a buy-bust operation against Aliser after they have positively located the subject.

He said Aliser’s neighbors had reported to the policemen his illegal drug trade as he was abusive in their place.

Conag added that the people living with Aliser had feared for their lives after the latter reportedly indiscriminately fired his gun.

Conag also said that when Aliser had sensed that he was transacting with the authorities, he pulled out his firearm and fired at the operatives.

He added that the policemen fired back and had neutralized the suspect.

Personnel of the Scene of the Crime Operations (SOCO) recovered a .357 revolver with an empty shell on its cylinder; a deformed slug and two .9mm caliber and 10 pieces of small plastic sachet of shabu.

Conag added that Aliser is a butcher that was linked with the drug personalities who were earlier arrested and killed during the police operations.

He added the death of Aliser is a message for the people to stop doing the illegal drug trade.  — GAN (FREEMAN)
