Candidates forum: Magpale-Davide tandem present 6-point agenda

CEBU, Philippines — The tandem of Cebu Vice Governor Agnes Magpale and Governor Hilario Davide III yesterday presented six key development agendas during the Mega Cebu Candidates Forum 2019.

These agendas are health and social services, countryside development, education and technical vocational training, environmental protection, climate change and disaster risk management, peace and order and infrastructure development, tourism and investment promotion.

Davide, who is running for vice governor, said that under his term as governor, he was able to fulfill his campaign promises to the Cebuanos of providing more school buildings and classrooms, upgrading the district hospitals, among others.

Magpale, who is now running for governor, said that if elected, she will concentrate on the rehabilitation of the provincial roads.

"Simple ra atong gipangayo apan medyo ambitious. Every Cebuano shall be given equal opportunity for a better life. We want to see Cebu peaceful and a resilient community where people cooperate and share benefits," Davide said.

Davide said that his tandem with Magpale will “continue to build an honest, corruption-free and reliable local government unit that will provide quality and adequate services to all Cebuanos." —/GAN (FREEMAN)
