Bong Go to IAU grads: Support the president

CEBU, Philippines — Former Special Assistant to President and senatorial candidate Bong Go wooed Cebuano voters in a two-day campaign trail that ended yesterday.

Go was the guest speaker during the 26th graduation exercises of Indiana Aerospace University (IAU) in Lapu-Lapu City yesterday. There, he called on the graduates to support President Rodrigo Duterte fight against illegal drugs, corruption, and criminality.

“Atong ipadayon ang pagbag-o nga gisugdan sa atong Presidente Duterte. Ako bisan asa ko ibutang, padayon akong serbisyo sa katawhang Pilipino kay ang akong bisyo, magserbisyo (Let us continue the change started by President Duterte. Wherever I am placed, I continue to serve the Filipino people because my vice is to serve),” Go addressed the graduates.

While saying he was not campaigning during the graduation ceremony, he nevertheless narrated his platforms of government that include the creation of Department of Overseas Filipino Workers, Senior Citizens Commission, the establishment of more Malasakit Centers nationwide, education, agriculture, sports development, among others.

Movie actors Philip Salvador and Robin Padilla were also with Go and the trio sang “Maging Sino Ka Man” to the delight of the graduates.

Prior to the event, Go held a motorcade with his supporters in the cities of Cebu and Lapu-Lapu.

On Friday night, Go also went to the resettlement site in Barangay Paknaan, Mandaue City where he joined a boodle fight with Mayor and reelectionist Luigi Quisumbing, some city officials, and residents.

Go was also pictured with Sixth District Rep. Jonas Cortes, who is running against Quisumbing, along with Cortes’ slate.

In an interview, Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Michael Lloyd Dino is thankful for the support of the Cebuanos to Go.

“During the among motorcade, daghan gyud og mga tawo and with that, nagpasalamat ko sa suporta for Bong Go,” Dino said.

Go believes he will amass many votes in Cebu, which is the country’s vote-richest province with more than two million registered voters. —/JMD (FREEMAN)
