CEBU, Philippines — A man was shot dead by four unidentified assailants in Upper Centro, Barangay Pit-Os, Cebu City at 3:45 p.m. yesterday.

The victim was identified as Joselito Hunyo, a resident of a one of the subdivisions in Pit-Os.

Talamban police chief Elisandro Quijano said two pairs of motorcycle-riding assailants targeted the victim who was on board his black Toyota Innova with plate number YJU 264.

Quijano said two kinds of cartridges were fired based on initial observation.

The assailants allegedly sped to the highlands of Barangay Talamban immediately after shooting Hunyo.

"Naay backride kada motor. Kada usa maoy nibira sa katong sakyanan. Nakagawas man ang biktima, nakanaog sa sakyanan. Pag-naog sa sakyanan, gitiwasan na didto sa gawas mao nang didto sa gawas na to napatay (The men riding in pillion fired shots at the victim's vehicle. The victim managed to go out of the car but he was shot again)," Quijano said.

Investigation is ongoing to determine the motive in the killing.
