Passport on Wheels back in Cebu City starting Monday

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City Councilor Raymond Alvin Garcia has urged city residents to take advantage of the Department of Foreign Affairs’ Passport on Wheels (POW) to apply and renew their passports.

Garcia said the POW will be here on February 4 until March 2 at SM Seaside City at the South Road Properties (SRP).

"Don't miss out this opportunity, I think this will be the last POW in Cebu for the next six months, unless daghan pa og request," Garcia said.

Garcia said the POW is expected to cater to at least 1,200 applicants per day, who have made an appointment through the DFA website.

He said his office is also willing to help new applicants for passports who still do not know the process through a prescreening of documents.

The requirements for new applicants include personal appearance, application form, original Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Authenticated Birth Certificate, and a valid identification card (ID).

Garcia said the POW in Cebu City is made possible through the representation of Vice Mayor Edgardo Labella. He said they were also able to bring the service here in August 2018.—Isabella G. Obor, USJR intern, FPL, (FREEMAN)
