Tuburan gets P58M financial aid

CEBU, Philippines — To assist its countryside development, financial support and giveaways worth P58 million were given by the provincial government to Tuburan town.

This includes two farm-to-market roads (FMR), 10 evacuation centers, a trading post, a multi-purpose drying pavement, and technical-vocational education center.

For the FMR, the Province gave P14.9 million for the over one kilometer stretch in Barangay Kabangkalan and P10 million for a one kilometer pathway in Barangay Sumon.

The evacuation centers have a total cost of P30 million.

The provincial government gave out P7.5 million for the project while the municipal government, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will also have a counterpart funding for the construction of the evacuation centers.

The ten barangays which will have new evacuation centers are Poblacion 5, Kabangkalan, Siotes, Jagbuaya, Kansi, Lusong, Montealegre, Kagbag-o, Bulwang Mag-alwa.

Tuburan town also received P2.6 million for the technical-vocational building.

Capitol also spent P801,000 for the multi-purpose drying pavement and trading post.

“Kini maong mga proyekto maoy resulta kung maghiusa ug magtinabangay kita,”said Tuburan Mayor Democrito ‘Aljun’ Diamante.

He emphasized that he prioritizes education, infrastructure and livelihood programs because these are necessary tools in improving the lives of the poor.

Capitol also distributed P536,000 worth of agri-machineries to different farmer’s organizations.

“Atong gi-una ang pagtubag sa panginahanglanon sa atong mga kaigsuonang kabus sama sa mga mag-uuma tungod kay sila ang unang nanginahanglan,” said Gov. Hilario Davide III.
