CEBU, Philippines — Vehicles, undershirt vests, magtech bullets were turned over by the Police Regional Office (PRO)–7 to the different city and provincial police offices yesterday morning.

PRO-7 Director Debold Sinas said that their national headquarters procured these pieces of equipment.

Four Innova and one Hi-Ace van were given to Regional Logistics Division, Regional Police Community Relation, Regional Intelligence Detection and Management Division, Regional Intelligence Division and to the Deputy Regional Director for Administration (command group).

A total of 819 undershirt vests were also distributed to the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LCPO), Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO), Cebu Police Provincial Police Office (CPPO) and Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO).

Sinas said that this is to assure the safety of their personnel during operations.

“Kasi kung napansin niyo, may mga operations kami lalo na sa operations natin, malakihang operations sometimes may lumalaban.  At least if there is any instances na lumaban, naka-vest na ang police natin,” said Sinas.

He added that it will be up to the city and provincial directors to distribute the equipment to their respective police stations.

“It will be given primarily sa atong mga police stations.  At least, this will help us. Confident ang tao natin that they are well protected (during operation),” Sinas added.

He also said that they have also procured M16 rifles which according to Sinas will be an advantage to them particularly to the mobile forces.

PRO-7 is hoping that the national headquarters will provide the region at least 500 new M16 rifles so that defective rifles will be replaced already.

Also yesterday, the PRO-7 inaugurated the newly constructed firing range inside their headquarters.

Meanwhile, a total of 223 Police Non-Commissioned Officer (PNCO) and 45 Police Commissioned Officer (PCO) from CPPO, MCPO, CCPO, LCPO and RHQS were promoted.

There are three newly promoted to Inspectors, 19 Police Senior Inspectors and 23 for Chief Inspector.

While for the promoted PNCO’s, there are 29 new Police Officer 2, 148 for Police Officer 3, 12 for Senior Police Officer 1, 13 for Senior Police Officer, 19 for Senior Police Officer 3, and two for Senior Police Officer 4. (FREEMAN)
