CEBU, Philippines — Cebu Police Provincial Office (CPPO) was chosen as the best provincial police office of the year in police community relations in Central Visayas.

CPPO also bagged six of the eight major awards during the kickoff ceremony of the 23rd Police Community Relations month of the Philippine National Police held at the regional headquarters yesterday.

Police Regional Office-7 recognized CPPO for its exemplary efforts in delivering the police services to the community.

Bogo City Police Station was hailed as best city police station while Consolacion Police Station was best municipal police station.Consolacion police chief, Gerard Ace Pelare, was also chosen as best junior police commissioned officer with his PCR officer Police Officer 2 Marivic Pepito as best junior non-commissioned police officer. Senior Police Officer 1 Mary Joy Ylanan of Bogo City was best senior non-commissioned officer.

Meanwhile, Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LLCPO) was hailed as best city police office in community relations with city director Senior Supt. Rommel Cabagnot winning the award as best senior police commissioned officer.

CPPO director Senior Supt. Manuel Abrugena said they will continue to balance and bridge the gap between the community and the police. Abrugena was happy of the recognition given by PRO-7. (FREEMAN)
