Consolacion town worker arrested for selling drugs
CEBU, Philippines — A job order employee of Consolacion Traffic Enforcement and Special Service (CTESS) who has been considered high-value target drug personality was arrested during a buy-bust operation Monday morning in Barangay San Vicente, Liloan.
The suspect was identified as Bryan Ampaso, 43, resident of the barangay.
Joint operatives of the Consolacion Police Station and the Provincial Intelligence Branch bought a pack of shabu from the suspect resulting in his arrest.
The suspect allegedly tried to escape after he sensed he was transacting with a policeman. Recovered from his possession were nine small packs of suspected shabu and two medium packs weighing at least 18 grams with an estimated value of P210,400.
Police Officer 3 Crisdie Lawian said they have been monitoring Ampaso's illegal drug activities in the past weeks. His name surfaced as one of the sources of drug suspects previously arrested. Lawian said Ampaso is operating in Consolacion and Liloan.
"Apil pud sa Liloan pero mas concentrated siya diri kay naa man siya diri pirmi. Naglisod mi ani niya og kuha kay dili man ni siya mubaligya basta dili niya kaila," said Lawian.
According to Lawian, Ampaso temporarily stopped his illegal drug trade during the peak of the anti-illegal drug campaign in October last year.
"Nagpabugnaw sa ni siya,‘nya nakadawat mi og report nga nibalik og amo dayon gi-verify og gipaningkamotan nga makuha siya," Lawian said.
The suspect is temporarily detained in Consolacion Police Station while criminal complaints against him are being prepared for filing. (FREEMAN)
