Fortune-tellers paint rosy picture for 2017

NO-NONSENSE FENG SHUI - Rowena D. Capistrano - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines – If a fortune-teller is to be believed, 2017 would be a "fruitful" and "booming" year for Cebu.

Madam Remedios Ganados, 65, who had been fortunetelling for more than 20 years, said what she read in her cards  was that 2017 is a very good year for business in the country, especially Cebu.

"Maayo ang dagan sa ekonomiya sa Sugbo ug Pilipinas.  Kung ganahan sila mag-open og business dapat dili na sila magduha-duha," she said.

She said Cebu would also see the construction of more infrastructures.

She also said politics looks bright in 2017, but warned that Filipinos must pray for President Rodrigo Duterte because many people want him dead, especially due to his war against drugs.

She reminded, though, that despite what they see in the cards, God make all things possible and for the impossible to happen, so it is best for the people to be prayerful always.

Cirilo "Tatay Eloy" Arepal, who had been practicing fortune-telling for the past 50 years, also 2017 is satisfactory and brings success and progress in business, politics and marriage.

Like Ganados, she said 2017 is a good year to open a business, as the venture is expected to grow and become fruitful.

He likewise said that the year would be good for those who want to join marriage life or those whose marriage are on the rocks.

"Katong nagtakilid ang kaminyoon, maayo nila karon tuiga ayohon," Arepal said.

He likewise said that with many people wanting the president to be out of their way, the Filipino should include him in their prayers because his task to manage the country is not easy, especially with his war against illegal drugs.

He also said that with the president espousing Federalism, changing to any form of government would be a very long process because there are people who don't like it.

He likewise said that like 2016, calamities, particularly typhoons, fire, and war would still happen in 2017. —/RHM (FREEMAN)
