Boy killed by stray bullet
CEBU, Philippines - A seven-year old boy died after he was hit by a stray bullet, which allegedly was shot by two men who were aiming at a 17-year-old boy "involved in illegal drugs."
The fatality was identified as Saniño Batucan, a resident of Barangay Cansaga, Consolacion town.
Consolacion police received a call from a concerned citizen Saturday night regarding a shooting incident in Sitio Latasan.
Live-in partners Alcris Quiapo and Niña Guston, both 17-years-old, were walking when two unidentified men onboard a motorcycle wearing bonnets arrived. The two then shot Quiapo several times, but the latter was not hit.
Quiapo ran and a chase transpired. The suspects shot Quiapo again, but he was again able to elude the gunshots.
However, Saniño, who was watching television inside his home, was hit on his stomach.
The victim was rushed to the Eversley Child Sanitarium and General Hospital and was later transferred to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center. He, however, did not make it alive.
Quiapo was allegedly engaged in illegal drugs. (FREEMAN)
