Three nabbed for liquor ban violation
CEBU, Philippines - At least three people were arrested Sunday in the cities of Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu for violation of the liquor ban.
Deveneser Llenes, 39, was arrested in Barangay Looc, Mandaue City after he was accused of hitting a 17-year-old girl along Mabini Street. Llenes also resisted arrest and kicked a responding police officer.
He was found to be under the influence of liquor in violation of the Commission on Elections Resolution No. 434 implementing the liquor ban.
Llenes was eventually arrested by PO3 Isagani Garcia. He will be charged with violation of the liquor ban, child abuse, and direct assault.
In Lapu-Lapu City, Fulgencio Soco, 47, and Jessie Orbiso, 48, were also arrested in separate incidents. Soco, resident of Barangay Mactan, allegedly barged into the house of Roilan Duran at 7:15 p.m. last Sunday.
Duran called for police assistance resulting in the arrest of the suspect, who was found to be under the influence of liquor.
Orbiso, on the other hand, was arrested in Barangay Pajac for allegedly throwing stones at the house of his neighbor, Ariel Apa.
A confrontation happened between the complainant and the suspect resulting in the latter’s arrest. — (FREEMAN)
