One Cebu backing Pia in polls

CEBU, Philippines - The “One Cebu” party yesterday announced it is supporting re-electionist Pia Cayetano in the May 10 local and national election.

In a press conference called yesterday, Governor Garcia and her brother Third district Rep. Pablo John Garcia, the Secretary-General of One Cebu Party, presented Cayetano to the media.

Governor Garcia made an earlier announcement of the senatorial candidates to support. They are Lito Lapid, Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., Ramon Guico, Francisco “Kit” Tatad, Adel Tamano, Gilbert Remulla, Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, Juan Ponce Enrile; Franklin Drilon and Jinggoy Estrada.

Vice Presidential candidate Loren Legarda also got the support from One Cebu Party.

Governor Garcia told reporters that they supported Cayetano, after a consultation with party officials.

Cayetano, according to Governor Garcia is very supportive of the programs of the provincial government especially concerning issues of women.

Cayetano also assured her support of the plans and programs of the provincial government under the leadership of Governor Garcia.

Rep. Garcia said that the support of the party for Cayetano is based on her performance in the Senate.

Rep. Garcia said the late senator Rene Cayetano is a family friend as he recalled that he worked as member of the law firm of the late senator.

Cayetano said that she was happy with the support made by One Cebu party and the Garcia family.

She also assured to work for the funds for the different projects in Cebu province.   (FREEMAN NEWS)
