A “five-camera” phone makes waves

The forthcoming unveiling of a “five-camera” phone was confirmed by Korean manufacturer LG last week.

Dubbed the “V40 ThinQ,” the smartphone highlights two front-facing cameras and three rear/primary cameras. The imaging hardware is geared for wide-angle landscape shots, detail-rich portraits and selfies, impressive panoramic snaps and more.

Bearing a similar design with its predecessor, the “V30,” nothing much has been revealed about the device to-date, as its official unveiling is slated to happen early this month.

A phone with more RAM than the standard PC?

Rumor has it that Oppo, one of the world’s fastest-growing smartphone brands, is set on rolling out a smartphone that comes with double-digit RAM.

Reported by tech site GizmoChina, it is believed that the Chinese smartphone manufacturer will be upgrading its new “Find X” model to come with RAM rated at 10 gigabytes.

RAM, short for “random access memory,” is often typified as a device’s “working area” – a computer or smartphone’s “working table,” so to speak. Bigger RAM means that a device’s processor has more space to access information and run apps, all-in-all resulting to enhanced user experiences.

With the standard PC running on RAM rated at 4 gigs, the said device will basically have more RAM than a regular computer, should all the rumors about it prove to be true.

Google’s new travel planning tools

Google rolled out a new set of travel planning tools over the weekend. These features can be accessed through Google’s various products and services.

From Google Search to Maps, the features are basically calibrated to help travelers get the latest on trip schedules, peak travel season advisories, ongoing ticket and booking promotions and the like.

Integrated to different Google apps and services, the features essentially simplify trip travel planning, allowing users to use voice search commands to know about hotel rates, taxi rates and peak travel season rates all within the Google ecosystem.
