After mental breakdown, AJ Raval still off social media

STAR CIRCUIT - Ricky Calderon - The Freeman

Controversial Viva sexy actress AJ Raval is no longer busy with her social media. She currently has an administrator handling her accounts in a desire to detoxify from a platform that became too toxic for her lately.

At the Zoom conference of her latest movie titled “Crush Kong Curly”, to be streamed December 17 on Vivamax, AJ said she had a mental breakdown because of too much negativity on social media.

“I am tired of the bashing. I am even getting death threats. There are so many people who are mad at me,” AJ shared.

The daughter of former action star Jeric Raval said she didn’t expect to become this controversial this early in her career.

“I am glad that people are talking about me and I am also grateful to those who are supporting me but there are so many bashers who are saying bad things about me even if they hardly know me,” AJ lamented.

“I am thankful and grateful to the fans. I wouldn’t be where I am now if not for them. But I know that I cannot please everybody. I know that no matter what I do or say, some will still choose to twist the facts and put me on a bad light. Kaya I am taking a break from social media.”

AJ chooses to look into the bright side despite the toxic situation. She is happy to be appreciated by her fans, and is also enjoying her popularity.

“I don’t want to be affected by the negative things thrown my way. Ayoko na umabot sa point na hindi na ako makatulog or makakain dahil sa bashing na natatangap ko,” the young actress added.

In “Crush Kong Curly”, AJ stars as Elle, once a bullied ugly duckling and now the hottest celebrity vlogger in the country. She believes that sex is power, and she knows how to use it well – be it in public or private shows. She’ll do anything for her family. She works hard to be able to build their dream home.

But her grandmother does not know what she does for a living. Elle’s friends are supportive of her, no matter how wild she gets. Her first love broke her heart, but she’s not afraid to open her heart again. But while she waits for “the one”, she’ll just keep opening her legs. And that’s exactly how Peter finds her – legs wide open, lying on the floor, clad in a skimpy dress.

Wilbert Ross plays Peter, an architect who just moved into Elle’s neighborhood. He’s an ex-seminarian, a loving brother and uncle to his sister’s children.

This is the first full-length movie team-up of AJ and Wilbert, although they both appeared in the film “Shoot! Shoot!”. Wilbert, known for his singing and dancing talent coming from the famous group Hashtag, also sang the “Crush Kong Curly” theme song.

We are sad to hear that no film was chosen as Philippine representative to the Best Foreign Language category for next year’s Oscars.

The Film Academy of the Philippines is the government entity tasked to select our entry to the Academy Awards. We are wondering why the FAP did not do their job of selecting a possible Oscar entry when it does not have much on its plate.

It seems that as long as the FAP is the lead agency choosing the Philippine entry, there is no way for us to get an Oscar. If the FAP people can’t do its job properly, maybe they should resign and let the task of choosing the Philippine entry to the Oscars be given to another entity.

The current FAP leadership lacks expertise and foresight so it will be for the good of the film industry for them to resign. Give the job of running the FAP to a more competent group.
