MAKES, a US-based artist management and concert company, is owne d by the couple Ferdie Mak and Debbie Mak.

Their first venture in concert production is the digital event titled “Sheryn Regis: Love United” which they co-produced with ABS-CBN.

Even if Keifer is now with MAKES, he will continue to be a member of the TNT Boys. The 16-year-old Keifer is hoping that with the help of MAKES, he will fulfill his dream of breaking into the intertional music scene.

His dream is to collaborate with his idols Arianna Grande and Bruno Mars. “Now that I am 16, my voice is still adjusting. Before this current stage that I am in, I could still whistle and hit high notes with ease. Now due to puberty, I am in the process of discovering my new strengths as a singer. I believe I am a good storyteller when I sing. I know with the guidance, love and support from my MAKES family, I am sure I have more to offer as a singer.”

Award-winning actor Joel Torre is playing his first flamboyant gay role in the Darryl Yap movie titled “Barumbadings” and he admits he was nervous on how he was going to do it.

So what he did first was talk to Direk Darryl so he’d know his vision for the movie before agreeing to do it.

“I am aware that the gay community will be critical on how we are going to portray our roles in the film. I am wondering how they will accept our portrayal. But as with any role that I do, I always play for truth.”

He wants to be believable in his portrayal and to go to the core of the character to make it real and human.

“Since this is my first openly gay role, I gave it my 110 percent. I gave my all. The role is hard because my character has physical as well as emotional demands. Acting is my job so I gave my best. I did my homework. I wonder what the audience will say about my performance,” said Joel.

Although he had a hard time wearing high heels, he believes that he did well in his role as mentor to action stars Jeric Raval, Mark Anthony Fernandez and Baron Geisler who also play gays in “Barumbadings.”

Sylvia Sanchez plans to take a rest from doing teleseryes after her very hard role as Barang in “Huwag Kang Mangamba.”

“I liked the role that’s why I accepted it and I am very thankful to Dreamscape for giving me this because it was very challenging,” said the actress at a Zoom press conference for the impending conclusion of “Huwag Kang Mangamba.”

Sylvia also thanked her directors who allowed her to interpret the role how she wanted to. It is rare for a director to allow an actress to play the role as she sees or feels it.

“That is why this role is very special even if I had a hard time portraying it. It’s the most challenging role I have done so far. I was drained emotionally and physically. That’s why I want to take a break so that when I come back I have something new to offer.”

With regards to her son Arjo Atayde’s foray into politics, Sylvia said that if she will have her way, she won’t allow her son to run for public office.

But since Arjo wants to be of service to the people, fueled all the more with the failure to grant ABS-CBN a new franchise, she and husband Art Atayde are giving him full support as he runs for congressman in Quezon City’s First District.

“We are here to guide Arjo as he takes this new path,” added Sylvia.

“Huwag Kang Mangamba” will end in three weeks and Sylvia said there are more explosive episodes that viewers should watch out for.
