John Lloyd confirms primetime show with GMA

CEBU, Philippines —  John Lloyd Cruz trended on Twitter Philippines yesterday after appearing in a TV special with Willie Revillame on GMA Network where he confirmed to finally returning to television via a Kapuso primetime show after a four-year showbiz hiatus.

“Abangan ninyo ho. Abangan n'yo. Magsasama kami ni Lloydie, magbibigay ng saya sa inyo sa primetime show. Abangan niyo po yan dito sa GMA-7,” said Willie during the event held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The A-list actor, who is now under the care of Maja Salvador’s Crown Artist Management Inc., came out on stage singing Junior Morales’ “Yakap.”

As John Lloyd was turning emotional during the short interview with Willie, the veteran host told the comebacking star: “Pinagdaanan ko rin yan. Maraming tao din ang tumulong sa akin. Ang importante, Lloydie, nakausap kita, nagka-usap tayong dalawa. Napakaganda ng puso mo, napakaganda ng pagkatao mo. Mahal na mahal mo si Elias. Mahal na mahal mo yung anak mo. Nami-miss ka naming lahat. Ang galing mo. Fan mo ako, fan mo kaming lahat dahil napakabuti mong tao at napakagaling mong artista.”

“Nadidinig ko, nararamdaman ko ang pagmamahal sa’yo ng tao. Welcome back sa industriya kung saan ka nagsimula at alam ko dito tayo magtatapos din. Welcome back, John Lloyd Cruz!!!”

“This is the first time for more than four years. Welcome back on TV! Ngayon ka lang nakita. Nakikita ka sa social media pero siyempre, iba ang telebisyon. Buong mundo, pinapanood ka. Lloydie, ano ang nararamdaman mo?” Willie asked.

John Lloyd replied, “Nagpapasalamat sa’yo, nandito ako. Excited to be back! Kuya Willie, nandito ako dahil sa’yo, thank you!”

The show concluded with the other hosts including Jennylyn Mercado, his leading lady in the 2016 movie “Just the 3 of Us”, welcoming the actor to the network and Willie asking him if he was ready to love again. To which he answered emphatically, “Handang-handa na!”
