Second wind for Diego, promising start for AJ

Diego Loyzaga, the son of Cesar Montano and Teresa Loyzaga, is on a second wind with his career thanks to Viva Entertainment. He is the lead actor in the new Yam Laranas film titled “Death of a Girlfriend” where he is paired with newcomer AJ Raval.

Everyone deserves a second chance, whether in one’s career or love life and Diego is thankful that showbiz opened its doors to him anew. 2021 is proving to be a good one for him and the 26-year-old actor is hoping to recover lost ground.

Now more serious and focused, he says he is reintroducing himself to showbiz. When he signed with Viva last year, he wished for a movie offer and it came true.

“I am a happy kid with what is happening to my career now. I am trying to make up for time in terms of lost opportunities after my career went to a halt. I am turning a year older next month and my birthday wish is for this pandemic to end so we can go back to our normal lives. I want to do things right this time. This is a comeback for me and I don’t want to waste this chance.”

Although this was the first time he and AJ worked together, they had a great time on set.

“Working together will be smoother if you keep communication lines open. Me and AJ were able to make our scenes come out better because we talk about it before doing it. We discuss what we are going to do with the scene, with the help of Direk Yam, of course.”

Diego plays Alonzo while AJ is his girlfriend in “Death of a Girlfriend,” a romance-thriller in the tradition of “Sigaw,” one of the most popular movies of Direk Yam.

AJ, meanwhile, is the daughter of former action star Jeric Raval. “Death of A Girlfriend” is her second film, the first being “Paglaki Ko Gusto Kong Maging Porn Star.”

Since Diego is more experienced in acting, he was a big help to make her comfortable in their scenes, especially the sexy ones.

“Diego is a real gentleman on set. He really guided me so that my acting will come out well. I didn’t find any difficulty in doing our scenes because he was so helpful,” said AJ who also appears in “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”

The mystery-love story, which promises a twist in the end, will be streamed on Vivamax starting April 30. During the Zoom conference for the film, AJ revealed that her dad got mad with her topless photo on Instagram. She promptly deleted the post to appease her dad.

She is willing to go sexy in movies as long as the role calls for it and if she trusts her director.

“Depende sa kailangan ng story, willing ako to do anything. Pero mabait naman si Direk Yam kasi inalagaan niya ang mga intimate scenes namin ni Diego,” said AJ, who also revealed that she will star in a “Scorpio Nights” remake.
