Morissette drops new single ‘Phoenix’

CEBU, Philippines —  “Shine like the sun, rise like a phoenix…”

Asia’s Phoenix Morissette Amon dropped Saturday a new single titled “Phoenix,” a song she wrote with fiancé Dave Lamar. The music video, which the Cebuana singer co-produced, features frontline workers amid the coronavirus pandemic as she belts out lines of clinging on to hope and persevering despite the difficulties.

“To be very honest, I was nervous working on this music video because I personally felt we already went all out with ‘Love You Still,’” Morissette wrote on Instagram.

“But then as always, my team proved me way wrong. We wanted to be able to give justice visually also to a very powerful song. Thank you guys for again putting your heart and soul into another dear project of ours.”

Morissette thanked those who streamed the track and continue to support her endeavors. “We’re in a very fortunate position being able to do what we’re doing now, and we just wanna keep putting out more content like this,” she said. “This is how we raise our flag and elevate OPM.
