Onscreen love team and real life sweethearts Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla remained Kapamilyas as they signed their respective three-year contracts with the network yesterday, Jan. 15.

After working on projects separately for more than a year, the phenomenal box office couple shared their sentiments on what people should expect, now that the sought after KathNiel tandem will be back on TV this year with an upcoming teleserye, “Tanging Mahal.”

“It’s going to be something fresh, especially that we have waited for this to happen again. I think that the fans are really excited to see us work together again, and personally, we are excited for this too,” Daniel shared.

Aside from his project with Kathryn, Daniel also mentioned his excitement about his movie titled “Whether the Weather is Fine” with ABS-CBN executive and veteran actress Charo Santos-Concio.

“I’m hoping that people would watch out for this film because this is really different, this is something new. The attack is different, the feel of the movie is different, that’s why it’s exciting,” Daniel mused.

Kathryn, on the other hand, shared her happiness about the support she’s gaining from her YouTube channel, “Everyday Kath,” which garnered almost a million subscribers in just two weeks after its first vlog release.

“I’m happy. More than the subscribers, I’m more delighted towards the comments that we receive because we do not know that a simple glimpse into our personal lives would have a positive effect on them,” Kathryn shared.

KathNiel fans should also watch out for a comeback movie that the love team will be cooking for this year.

When asked about how they feel towards staying a Kapamilya, Daniel answered, “Very happy and very thankful that ABS-CBN still trusts us the same way we trust it. We’re very happy, blessed, and excited for the things in store for us.”

Present in the signing were ABS-CBN chairman Mark Lopez, ABS-CBN president and chief executive officer Carlo Katigbak, chief operating officer of broadcast Cory Vidanes, TV production head Laurenti Dyogi, Star Magic head Johnny Manahan, and head of treasury Rick Tan.

Slowly but surely getting popular as days go by is the Pinoy pop group SB19 which was formally launched in August 2019 alongside the release of their second single “Go Up.”

SB19 met with the entertainment press at the Novotel Hotel last week for the launch of their third single titled “Alab.”

During the event, the group members said they are ready to collaborate with other pop groups but their immediate goal right now is to share their kind of music to the Pinoy audience.

The management team of SB19 said there is a plan for the group to collaborate with other South Korean boy groups.

SB19 had been received well by their growing number of fans who support their shows and concerts.

SB19 members said they have yet to feel they are popular but recognize that it takes time for a singing group to make a connection with the audience.

Incidentally, in almost a week after SB19 released the music video of “Alab,” it only gathered 1.5 million views.

After “Dead Kids,” maverick filmmaker Mikhail Red has another ace up his sleeve – the barkada horror movie “Block Z” from Star Cinema.

It stars Julia Barretto, Joshua Garcia, Maris Racal, McCoy De Leon, Ian Veneracion, Yves Flores and Inah Raymundo who plays the role of a zombie.

The trailer of “Block Z” is very scary so we could only imagine what the whole movie will be like.

This is the first movie of Julia and Joshua after they broke up. But both are professional and didn’t allow their feelings to get in the way of the shoot. In fact, during the press conference, Joshua said he missed Julia and he looked forward to meeting her on the set.
