UV Chorale, Madrigal Singers in ‘MadzSaulog’ concert
CEBU, Philippines — In what its founder Jose “Dodong” Gullas calls a “dream come true,” the University of the Visayas Chorale is commemorating their beloved home’s year-long Centennial celebration with “MadzSaulog” (Magsaulog sa Awit ug Panaghigalaay), a concert that will have the famed Philippine Madrigal Singers performing back-to-back with Cebu’s award-winning chorale group.
Unfolding at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow, August 18, at the Centerstage of SM Seaside City Cebu with choirmaster Mark Anthony A. Carpio, “MadzSaulog” will also feature as guest performers the JRG Visayanian Halad Orchestra under the baton of Reynaldo Seville Abellana.
Truly a rare event that music enthusiasts must not miss, UV Chorale, managed by Nena B. Gullas and conducted by Philippine choral music stalwart and Philippine Madrigal alumna Anna Tabita Abeleda-Piquero, is beyond excited to share the stage with the multi-awarded and internationally applauded choral group from the University of the Philippines.
