ADmire Workshop: Ageless,genderless, shapeless

Karla Rule - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — Through AD Models and Talents Philippines, and Stylefirm Cebu Fashion and Lifestyle together with Mentors & Muses, and Independent Designer Assembly comes the ADmire Modelling Workshop, a reimagined edition of the STYLISSIMO Summer Sessions which started a decade ago.

This year, the modelling workshop seeks for kids between 4-12 years old teens between 13 to 19 and adults 20 years old and up.

Despite the growing number of modelling workshops, ADmire prides itself in its inclusivity, highlighting an “ageless, genderless and shapeless” vision which sets them apart as they welcome participants of every shape, color and gender identification.

Designer Dexter Alazas of ADmire says that despite the saturation of workshops, there is a need for them since “everyday, a new model is born and discovered.”

“Inquiries never stop so there is really a market for everyone wanting to try out something new and to explore especially in summer. And modelling is one big industry that never stops growing and revolutionizing,” he says.

Alazas stresses that the rise of individuality and diversity has opened the market more. Apart from producing high fashion models, more opportunities have been available for commercial and character models as well as acting and talent personalities.

Registration for ADmire begins on March 23 at Ayala Center Cebu in synergy with the launch of the mall’s Colorful Summer campaign. The workshops run for two to three hours per session, thrice a week on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays held at The Alcoves rising above Ayala Center Cebu.

Divided into April and May batches, ADmire will culminate on May 26 at Ayala Center Cebu.

Alazas will be leading the workshops as Head Mentor, alongside Sarah Mae Enclona-Henderson for acting. Other mentors include content creator David Wilde X, Beatrice Luigi Gomez, Gari Son, Artem Levy and Nadia Bogdanchikova.

Aside from runway and commercial modelling, the workshop will provide insights on pageant and personal styling with the Independent Designer Assembly helping out with the wardrobe and accessories. This aligns with ADmire’s aim of producing “more than just models and talents but future fashion ambassadors from all walks of style.”

Apart from developing confidence and creating fashion ambassadors, ADmire also makes it a point to subscribe to a knowledge and attitude

approach as they work on enhancing and developing a person’s overall image.

“It’s not just about having a beautiful face, having a perfect body or how well you walk the runway or come out in photographs well,” says Alazas.

“It also involves the strength of character and the right attitude towards the business of fashion and entertainment. Simply put, the holistic approach.”
