J.CO’s re-packaging starts with a bigger store

CEBU, Philippines —  J.CO Donuts & Coffee has opened a newly refurbished and bigger store at the SM City Cebu.

The opening of the 60-seater cafe also starts the re-packaging of all three J.CO outlets in Cebu bearing the brand’s new black logo with additional menu choices, which include pastries and meal treats.

The J.CO store on the lower ground floor of SM City Cebu was closed for a couple of weeks for renovation in order to accommodate more customers due to increasing consumer volume.

During the lockdown season, the branch’s online channel continued to post sales everyday, satisfying sweet cravings of stay-at-home consumers.

According to Joemil Bairoy, J.CO SM City Cebu shift manager, the store managed to achieve encouraging sales despite the pandemic, and the inflation threat.

Bigger lifestyle cafe accommodation and expanded food choices make J.CO store part of the “third place” destinations— a friendly, informal meeting place to catch up with friends and even meet new people.

J.CO Donuts & Coffee, a lifestyle cafe retailer in Asia specializing in donuts, coffee and frozen yogurt, is now expanding its offering to  become a full-service diner.

In Cebu, J.CO has presence at Ayala Center Cebu, and at Cebu IT Park's Calyx Center.

J.CO is known for its seasonal specialty donuts and drinks. This Christmas it is bringing back its popular winter flakes, santal swale, butter cream flavors with specialty drinks.

J.CO is also known for using premium ingredients such as Belgian chocolate, California almonds, American honey, New Zealand cheese and Japanese matcha in its products.

The brand became popular for selling Jcoccino, a donut that combines the flavor of Italian cappuccino with chocolate.

Other variants include Alcapone (donut with almonds and white chocolate), Why Nut (peanut butter-filled donut), JCrown Oreo (with Oreo bits), and J.Pops, or mini-doughnuts that come in several flavors.

J.CO’s first store was opened in May 2006 in Indonesia. Now it has over 300 stores worldwide.
