Chamber Beat: CBM 2021 gathers local biz owners, government leaders

CEBU, Philippines —  The Cebu Business Month (CBM) 2021, a Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) flagship event, gathered local businessmen and government leaders as they share insights, experiences, interventions and support on business survival and breakthroughs in the COVID-19 pandemic era and beyond on June 29 via Zoom and Facebook Live.

In a consensus, Agriculture-based businesses topped other enterprises seen to have continuously led micro, small and medium (SMEs) ventures toward success in the new normal.

“The most sustainable and resilient business is in agriculture. In many countries in the world, where agriculture is strong and developed, manufacturing industries, food and health products as well as cosmetics and many more are mostly agri-based,” said Rey Calooy, founder and general manager of RNC Marketing Philippines.

Other powerhouse speakers were 6th District of Cebu Board Member Hon. Glenn Anthony Soco, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) 7 Director Maria Elena Arbon, Golden Prince & Suites President Benny Que, Plant Mama Owner Sheila Ruiz, Virginia Food, Inc. President Felix Tiukonhoy, and Pages Holdings Inc. CEO Bunny Pages.
