MCCI launches Sugbo Negosyo program
Dubbed “Pinangabuhing Sugbuanon para sa Hayag nga Kaugmaon,” the Sugbo Negosyo program is meant to assist micro and small business amid the pandemic.

CEBU, Philippines —  The Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) has partnered with the Cebu Provincial government and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to launch the “Sugbo Negosyo” program.

Dubbed “Pinangabuhing Sugbuanon para sa Hayag nga Kaugmaon,” the joint program is meant to assist micro and small business amid the pandemic.

MCCI is the only chamber chosen by Governor Gwendolyn Garcia for partnership in this project based on their earlier project collaboration, “Obra Negosyo Eskwela.”

Sugbo Negosyo envisions to uplift the lives of the people in the countryside by providing them an opportunity to establish a micro-business or reboot their business operations severely impacted by COVID-19.

In a statement released by MCCI, it explained that the program banners three categories namely: Negosyong Padayonon for established micro- enterprises which need to recover, uplifted or enhanced, Produktong Sugboanon for micro- entrepreneurs engaged in manufacturing or processing, and Mga Serbisyo ug Ginagmayng Patigayon for micro-entrepreneurs engaged in manufacturing or processing.

Sugbo Negosyo is open to all residents of the Province of Cebu who belong to the low-income population, displaced workers and OFWs, or who belong to other disadvantaged groups identified for priority assistance by the Cebu Provincial Government and certified by the local Social Welfare and Development Office.

MCCI, through the help of many active and established business leaders in the province, will be providing the program with business coaching and mentoring services.
