Business overhaul pushed to cope with ‘new normal’
CEBU, Philippines — The business sector in Cebu is advised to overhaul the way they do business under the new normal—as everything has changed including the behavior of consumers.
According to Mario Domingo, Founder of Neural Mechanics Inc. and Institute Director, Ateneo Institute for the Digital Enterprise, “Design Thinking” for innovation is key strategy for companies to thrive under new normal.
Design thinking is a non-linear, iterative process that teams use to understand users, challenge assumptions, redefine problems and create innovative solutions to prototype and test.
This usually involves five phases—Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test—it is most useful to tackle problems that are ill-defined or unknown.
Domingo, who was one of the resource speakers during the recently concluded virtual Business Summit hosted by Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI),
expounded on the importance and the framework of design thinking, a process for creative problem solving in the new normal when we are challenged to innovate.
He stressed on the importance of design thinking in the new normal in redefining the employee experience, reinventing the customer experience, revolutionizing pandemic responses and improving governance.
