CEBU, Philippines —  Cebu Parklane International Hotel is keeping its winning badge in the midst of difficult times, especially in tourism and hospitality sectors.

“In these trying times, what drives us to rise up is our passion and resilience,” said Cebu Parklane general manager Cenelyn Manguilimotan.

While tourists and events bookings are drying up as the quarantine measures continue in Cebu, the hotel has chosen to take a detour in business trying out new hospitality concepts such as intensifying its food delivery service, offering catering services to companies specifically the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector.

The 241-room, Cebuano-owned hotel managed to stay in business operating a skeletal workforce since Cebu City implemented the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in the middle of March this year.

“Despite all the hurdles, we all work together and stand united so we can continue to champion distinct Cebuano hospitality. There is hope as long as we have faith. Dasig lang!” she shared.

The hotel has been hosting BPO employees, and returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who are required for a 14-day quarantine protocol upon arriving Cebu.

Losing hope in these challenging times is the last thing a business could do, or even resort to. Instead, Cebu Parklane International Hotel is facing the pandemic with grace, embracing the new normal with positivity.
