Liberate yourself this New Year
New Year always gives the promise of a new beginning and with it the hope that we can make things better.
It is a nice attitude to start the year with positivity. The desire to change for the better takes off every January. Making simple promises to one’s self that more doable can, as in the old, listed, so that as the pages of each day unfolds, one can tick what has been done and what else needs to be achieved. There should be no carry overs of regrets. They just hamper your moving ahead. Do what can be done and accept what cannot be changed and move from there.
I know this path of thought is an often read, but practicing it takes discipline. We love to castigate ourselves over old wrongs as if self-flagellation would resize the sin. It never will.
So why crucify yourself? The only one who saved us from damnation and that is Christ. So if there is one resolution I suggest we take this 2020, is to have a clear vision of who our savior is. Knowing Jesus more by reading the Bible often is liberating. Try it! Happy New Year everyone!
