DTI to open Go Lokal! store in Panglao airport

CEBU, Philippines — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI-7) is set to open another Go Lokal! outlet in Panglao International Airport this May.

This is the second Go Lokal! opened by DTI in partnership with private sector concessionaires, after the opening of the Ayala Center Cebu outlet in September last year.

“We already got the go signal or approval from CAAP [Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines] to open Go Lokal! outlet inside the Panglao International Airport,” said DTI-7 regional director Aster Caberte in an interview yesterday.

The target opening she said is on May this year.

Panglao Island, with its new international airport and fast growing tourists’ arrival should also be complemented with wider options of shopping facilities, Go Lokal! caters to the sophisticated tourist shoppers.

DTI, in partnership with exporter Janeth Chua, opened the 30 square-meter Go Lokal store at the Ayala Center Cebu new wing last year participated by local makers of fashion accessories, and food processors.

Of the over 100 Go Lokal! outlets across the country, the Ayala Center Cebu store is a consistent top-notcher in terms of sales performance.

Go Lokal! is a retail concept store which displays high quality and innovative Philippine-made products, developed , crafted, designed, produced by micro, Small and medium entrepreneurs and artisans.

Go Lokal! carries everyday products made from indigenous materials with world-class and modern twists, processed food, home decor, arts and crafts, health and wellness products, fashion apparel, accessories, and health and eco-friendly items.

This is also a kind of retail outlet where style meets functionality and modern meets indigenous.

DTI also assists product development of the participating local manufacturer-vendors.
