Mango craze opens franchise prospects
CEBU, Philippines — Filipino entrepreneurs can leverage on the world’s rising appetite for “anything mango”, said a franchising expert.
Rudolf Kotik, founder of RK Franchise Consultancy Inc., said that companies that sell or manufacture anything with mango are now in demand in other countries, and these are hot for franchise opportunities.
“What’s in right now is anything with mango in it,” said Kotik adding that Philippine franchising is getting more popular abroad.
Kotik, who also founded the Filipino International Franchise Association (FIFA), said that Philippines is among the top 10 countries with the most number of franchises globally.
Aside from food outlets that are offering mango flavored snacks, beverages, sweets, other hot franchise demand abroad that Filipinos can enter into, include; self-service laundromats, education and tutorial services, specialized beauty services, and animal care services.
Meanwhile, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) recently announced its partnership with Expand Franchising to promote franchise opportunities to Filipinos in Australia.
Kotik’s company has also entered a partnership deal with Expand Franchising. In a statement, the DTI said it entered into a tie up with the Australian franchising organization to encourage Filipinos living in Australia to get into franchising.
Under the partnership, the parties will conduct franchise seminars and business consultations.
