Accenture expands Cebu operations, to hire 1,000

CEBU, Philippines - Accenture Philippines will hire at least a thousand more people as it adds another office facility in Cebu this year.

The company currently employs 5,000 in its four facilities in Cebu located in Pioneer House, Cybergate, ebloc2 and ebloc 3.

In a press conference yesterday, Accenture Philippines director Lito Tayag announced the company’s expansion plans for its Cebu operations.

He added that with the expansion, the company will then be needing highly skilled talents and professionals such as US registered nurses, Japanese speaking professionals, infrastructure service skilled people, SAP, Java, and analytic programmers, among others.

 Accenture opened its Cebu Global Delivery Center Network for Technology in 2007. "We are serious about growing in Cebu," Tayag said.

Accenture celebrates this year its 10th year anniversary in Cebu. Aside from generating jobs,  Tayag said the company is also committed in expanding social responsibility programs, such as helping Cebu to sustain its good human resource pool.

The Cebu operation is servicing 120 clients worldwide, with high-value services such as finance and accounting, health management, network services, and others.

Accenture started its Philippine operations in 1985 as an offshore application development center supporting the business internally.

Today, Accenture is one of the largest IT and BPM companies in the Philippines, offering diverse array of technology services, including systems integration, application development and management, and infrastructure outsourcing, as well as voice (contact center) and data BPO services, including finance and accounting, health administration, human resources, insurance processing and custom BPO.

It now has a total of 22 delivery centers spread in Manila, Cebu and Ilocos. (FREEMAN NEWS)
