() - October 1, 2001 - 12:00am
The construction of residential and racetrack portions of the Saddle & Clubs Leisure Park are ongoing. The development is a unique integration of residential, commercial, sports and recreational estate planned in the highest standards of mixed-used community living. It is located in the tri-boundary area of the municipalities of Naic, Tanza and Trece Martirez in Cavite.

Sta. Lucia Realty & Development Inc. and its partners namely: Philippine Racing Club Inc.; AZKCON Construction and Development Inc.; EBECOM Holdings Inc.; Harmony Homes Inc; Megatop Realty; and Atty. Diogenes Bartolome have consulted architectural experts to help them with the structural plans of the Saddle & Clubs Leisure Park.

Froelich, Kow, Gong Architects Inc. handled the design and planning of the 70-hectare racetrack and support facilities; Hellmut, Obata, Kassabaum, Inc. masterplanned the 176-hectare residential estate which is subdivided into four unique villages namely Del Mar Promenade, Melbourne Grove, Chantilly Park and Fleminton Fields and identified distinct zoning for the 117-hectare commercial estate which accommodates business establishments, including supermarkets, movie houses, convenience stores, utility service station, restaurants, office and school buildings.

Golfing legend Arnold Palmer and architect Ronald Fream of GOLFPLAN Inc. designed the two 18-hole championship courses for the development of 576-hectare Saddle & Clubs Leisure Park. Marketing network firm Royale Homes Marketing Corporation is leading the group in putting Saddle & Clubs on the market and aggressively establishing it as a sensible investment these days.

The main attraction of the development is the racetrack and support facility, which will soon be the new address of the Sta. Ana Park.

The 1,600-meter sand track is already ninety-eight percent complete. The track is 25 meter wide, and has inside turning radius of 128 meters. The homestretch between turns in 400 meters long, and the distance from the finish line is 100 meters. The track will be lighted for night racing. A tunnel is also constructed for access to the infield area. The infield will have lakes which function as the retention of pond for storm drain water, and used for irrigation purposes. There will be approximately 1,000 stable with tack and feed rooms. The grandstand will have a multi-level seating structure to accommodate a large number of spectators.

On October 3-7, Sta. Lucia is holding twenty invitational races at the Sta Ana Park. The event aims to enlist support of horse owners, jockeys, trainers and patrons for the development of the first-class racing facility at the Saddle & Clubs, which will help elevate the prestige of the racing industry in the country. The Sta. Lucia Racing Festival guarantees winners a gross prize of P150,000 per race. A gross prize of P225,000 will be won at the grand Futurity Race stakes, which will be held on October 7 while P80,000 goes to the second placer; P50,000 for the third placer; and P20,000 for the fourth placer.
