The Enrique Zobel Memorial Polo Cup: Zobel Cup hits a perfect 10

MANILA, Philippines - One of the most exciting sporting and society events of the year, the Enrique Zobel Memorial Polo Cup, has become a must-attend occasion for Manila’s elites. Now on its tenth year, the much anticipated game was held in no other than the Enrique Zobel Field last February 3, where spectators enjoyed a good polo match and experienced up close the latest Audi models—from the all-new Audi Q3 side by side with the new A1 Sportback, to the new Q5, the new A4 and the new A6 2.0 TDI; all the way to the much awaited Audi parade finale.

The game was opened by a ceremonial parade of horses and the new Audi A1 Sportback with Ms. Rocio Zobel and Audi Philippines Head Benedicto Coyiuto. This was followed by the Salute and ceremonial Ball Throw-in with Zobel Foundation Chairperson Dee Zobel, Manila Polo Club President Roman Anthony Azanza,Jr., Audi Philippines Head Benedicto Coyiuto, and PGA Cars Director Roberto Coyiuto III.

The Medium Goal Match, 4 Chukker game were played by the Audi Greys against the Audi Reds. All the players were vigorous and dynamic on the field. Each player exemplified good sportsmanship, honor, and immense passion for the sport as they scrambled and swung their mallets to get a shot at the ball. Finally, scoring the most goals at the Umpire’s ending whistle was the Audi Greys.

The awarding ceremony were officiated by Mrs. Dee Zobel, Manila Polo Club President Roman Azanza,Jr., Manila Polo General Manager Rafael Llamas, Benedicto Coyiuto and Roberto Coyiuto III with the presentation of the Audi Greys, to the cheers of the crowd.

The highlight of the day was when the high-powered Audi S6, S7, and S8 paraded on the polo field to end the game ceremonies. Spectators were delighted as they were invited to view the cars up close and enjoy a sumptuous feast right on the field in celebration of the successful event.

After a decade, the Enrique Zobel Foundation’s partnership with Audi Philippines has once again been fortified with the presentation of the 10th Enrique Zobel Memorial Polo Cup.
