Providing a new and exciting alternative to the large commercial developments in the Metro South is the country’s leading real estate developer Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC) with the opening of Robinsons Place Las Piñas. Located along Alabang-Zapote Road, the two-storey mall houses roughly 200 retailers of popular local and global brands, well-loved dining concepts as well as anchor tenants Robinsons Supermarket and Robinsons Department Store. The mall sits on a 6.8-hectare site and is part of a mixed-use complex that will include a mid-rise condominium project of Robinsons Communities. Guests were warmly welcomed to the event by RLC executives led by president Frederick Go, general manager for Robinsons Malls Arlene Magtibay and Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc. president and COO Robina Gokongwei-Pe together with JG Summit Holdings Inc. chairman and CEO James Go, president and COO Lance Gokongwei and chairman emeritus John Gokongwei Jr. Also present were Las Piñas City mayor Vergel “Nene” Aguilar, represented by his wife Imelda and councilor Mark Anthony Santos. Distinguished personalities from the business and social circles were recently inducted as the latest members of the Society for Cultural Enrichment Inc. (SCEI). The meaningful gathering, held at the poolside of One Rockwell East Tower in Makati, was well-attended by the organization’s ever-supportive members. Presiding over the induction ceremony was SCEI chairman and president consul Helen Ong while vice chairman Dr. Jaime Laya was overall in-charge of the event. Congratulations to all the new members of the Society for Cultural Enrichment Inc.! More power!

The unwavering support of Monaco

The Principality of Monaco was given recognition by the Humanitarian Country Team of the United Nations (UN) for its invaluable and immediate humanitarian and logistical assistance extended to the Philippines for the typhoon Yolanda relief and reconstruction efforts. Presenting the award to Monaco consul general Fortune Ledesma (third from left) were (from left) World Health Organization representative Dr. Julie Hall, Foreign Affairs secretary Albert del Rosario and UN resident coordinator Luiza Carvalho.
