Lourdes Hospital wins big at Kuala Lumpur for BIDA Lourdes Campaign

MANILA, Philippines — Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital (Lourdes Hospital) continues to make waves in championing the future of Philippine healthcare, this time on the international stage.

Lourdes Hospital was presented with the Best Marketing Initiative Award at the Healthcare Asia Awards in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last April 10.

The award was in recognition of the hospital’s BIDA Lourdes: Sci-Tech Champs marketing campaign that aims to nurture the next generation of healthcare professionals while promoting the value of health and wellness towards students, parents, and teachers.

The Healthcare Asia Awards is an awards program that recognizes outstanding hospitals, clinics and healthcare companies across Asia that redefine excellence in the healthcare industry. Out of all of the entries from across the continent, Lourdes Hospital was selected as one of this year’s awardees.

Launched in 2023, BIDA Lourdes is a collaboration between Lourdes Hospital and the Department of Education NCR that aims to bridge the gaps between healthcare and education.

It engages elementary and high school students in interactive, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)-focused activities such as quiz bowls, robotics challenges, science fairs and work immersion programs. This is alongside promoting preventive health practices through free health screenings and discounts for consultations and medical services at Lourdes Hospital.

Now on its third year, the campaign expanded with thousands of students from hundreds of schools across Metro Manila joining in the campaign’s activities that has garnered a reach of one million people on social media.

The campaign has also garnered partners from government and private organizations who share the same passion as Lourdes Hospital for the future of healthcare, like University of the Philippines Rural High School, Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and De La Salle Santiago Zobel School among others.

As the hospital celebrates this milestone, it also looks ahead to continue building the future of healthcare by promoting the importance of academics and overall wellness.

Through the programs and activities that combine science, technology and healthcare, Lourdes Hospital will continue to increase its reputation as a healthcare provider and as an advocate of quality education.
