Asia Leaders Awards names Shawarma Shack Franchise Company of the Year - Local Category

MANILA, Philippines — Giving recognition and credit to the companies that made a significant change in their respective fields via their credibility, leadership, success and corporate social responsibility as well as promoting the Philippines around the globe, the 6th Annual Asia Leaders Awards was held at the Manila Hotel last November 22.

One of the award recipients is Shawarma Shack, which was awarded Franchise Company of the Year- Local Category.

Before becoming a household name, Shawarma Shack started its journey way back in 2015 as a simple food stall in Tutuban Night Market and a pop-up booth at university events selling its famous beef shawarma wrap.

The brand is also known as the first and the original buy-1-take-1 shawarma in the Philippines.  The company’s modern food facility operates with advanced state-of-the-art equipment using smart technology to drive efficiency and to ensure the high quality of products.

The said award was received by Walther Uzi Buenavista, president and chief executive officer of Shawarma Shack, conferred by Dr. Elton Dee Tan, chief executive officer of The E Hotels Group and president of Business Network International Premier, together with Ambassador Raduta Matache of Romania.

Shawarma Shack takes pride in being at the forefront of the sector's technological advancements in food preparation, innovation, storage and sanitation, paving their way even through the pandemic.

Not only does Shawarma Shack delight customers with delectable Mediterranean fare, but it also takes pride in its commitment to CSR by helping our kababayans in times of need by participating in relief efforts for those who were affected by natural calamities and even providing food packs to frontliners during the height of the pandemic.

Prior to receiving the award, Shawarma Shack has been conferred different recognitions and appreciations from various organizations such as the One to Many Millenial Club Award from Francorp Philippines, a Plaque of Appreciation from Philippine Coast Guards for its humanitarian assistance during the relief operations for Typhoon Odette and also recognition from the Philippine National Police in supporting frontliners in combating the spread of COVID-19.   

Currently, there are over 700 Shawarma Shack stores across the nation giving Filipinos ongoing opportunities to build their own business through franchising and providing jobs to many.
