MANILA, Philippines (As released) — Joey Concepcion, founder of advocacy Go Negosyo and presidential adviser for entrepreneurship, announced that the program's mentorship arm will fund 20 lucky micro-, small- and medium-sized businesses with P25,000 each to help them tide over after losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Concepcion said the P500,000 worth of prizes for "puhunan" will be given away through an online raffle.

“For the past two months of the lockdown, we have produced close to 200 episodes already of our online mentorship," he said in a statement.

"Every Friday, we do a raffle for those who watched our programs, from there, we electronically select 10 winners of 10,000 each. We hope somehow, this will aid MSMEs who we have been helping for the past 15 years of Go Negosyo,” Concepcion added.

Due to imposed regulations brought about by the pandemic, Go Negosyo had to adapt and maximize its online platforms to continue serving our MSMEs. It has launched Mentor ME Online sessions on Facebook, which has catered to more than 1.3 million followers.

Since March 23, 2020, more than 500 Go Negosyo mentors have volunteered to help in the program with the aim of providing free mentorship and connecting MSMEs with industry players during the pandemic.

The program has equipped MSMEs with technical knowledge and business know-how in an interactive Facebook session. The live audience can freely ask questions from the mentors while lucky viewers chosen through an e-raffle have the chance to receive additional capital to grow their business.

Various business chambers and associations such as the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers Of Commerce & Industry, Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, Philippine Franchise Association, Philippine Retail Association, Assoc. of Filipino Franchisers, among others, also support the program.

“In the previously held sessions, we’re proud to have featured top Philippine business executives, Go Negosyo mentors, and celebrities such as Boy Abunda, Aga Muhlach, Dra. Vicky Belo, Richard Yap, Vina Morales, Tessa Prieto-Valdes, and many more. I believe that through the guidance of our expert mentors and our programs, we can provide hope and inspiration for our entrepreneurs and that they will be able to navigate this crisis and safely steer their businesses to greater success," Concepcion added.

From a daily pool prize of P5,000 a day on April 27 to P100,000 every Friday, GoNegosyo continues to level up its support to MSMEs, with a pledge to give away a total of P500,000.

MMO is held thrice a day and features financing opportunities for MSMEs (loan assistance); Free live one-on-one mentoring sessions; Balik Kabuhayan Series (Navigating to the New Normal & Campaign for Project ARK); and Puhunan Pang-negosyo Raffle Promo.

MMO is also embarking on a new segment with Tessa Prieto-Valdes called Business As Usual. The live business talk provides knowledge and business know-how through an accessible platform that showcases accomplished individuals who were successful in their respective industries. — As released
