Puregold eyes Visayas, Mindanao as focus areas for expansion

MANILA, Philippines — Supermarket chain Puregold Price Club Inc. is looking at Visayas and Mindanao as key areas for its expansion to support micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) growth and job creation.
Antonio delos Santos II, vice president for operations at Puregold, told reporters on the sidelines of the Tindahan ni Aling Puring (TNAP) Sari-Sari Store Convention 2025 that the company plans to build new stores nationwide, especially in the Visayas and Mindanao.
“Our target for this year is to open 25 stores,” he said, noting the company wants to open more stores particularly in areas where Puregold has no presence.
At present, he said there are 512 Puregold stores across the country.
He said Puregold is opening in Sindangan in Zamboanga del Norte next month.
Puregold is also looking at Pantukan in Davao as a location for its new store.
“We want the whole Philippines, especially Visayas and Mindanao to be reached by Aling Puring so that we can help more businesses in these regions,” Delos Santos said.
Puregold president Ferdinand Vincent Co said the company’s impact is not just measured by store count, but also in terms of lives changed.
“When a sari-sari store thrives, a family moves forward, a community strengthens and the economy grows from the ground up. By enabling our Ka-Asensos to succeed, we’re paving the road to thriving communities,” Co said.
Puregold is helping MSMEs grow and create jobs through its loyalty and membership program TNAP.
Created for Puregold’s primary customers including sari-sari store owners, carinderias, canteens, catering, bulk buyers, wholesalers and other resellers, TNAP provides free trainings and seminars and bridges start-up businesses and resellers to micro-financing institutions.
“If more Puregold (stores) open, more jobs will be given to the people in the country,” Delos Santos said.
