ATI income up 7%
MANILA, Philippines — Asian Terminals Inc. (ATI) saw its net income rise by 6.9 percent to P601.9 million in the first quarter, driven by the resurgence of international roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) cargoes handled by its Batangas Port.
ATI registered P2.9 billion in revenues, 6.5 percent higher than last year’s P2.72 billion.
Revenues from ATI Batangas jumped 37.8 percent on the back of higher RoRo volumes, while revenues from Manila South Harbor’s international containerized cargo operations improved by 7.8 percent.
Batangas Port, which serves as the biggest car carrier port in the country, handled over 54,000 completely built car units (CBUs) from January to March, up 66 percent from the previous year.
Last year, Batangas Port handled over 136,000 CBUs, representing majority of vehicle imports nationwide.
