New Toyota Avanza rolls out next month

MANILA, Philippines — Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. (TMP) is set to launch the new multi-purpose vehicle Avanza next month to take advantage of the increasing demand for commercial vehicles (CVs) in the market.

In a statement, TMP said the 2022 iteration of the Avanza model would be unveiled on March 7.

The vehicle is being introduced in the local market amid the continuous rise in demand for CVs, particularly for family use.

The Avanza model was last refreshed in 2019.

“Our mobility requirements are rapidly evolving, especially after the disruptions caused by the pandemic, but one thing remains constant – Filipinos will always need a reliable car that can offer ample, comfortable space for the family, including extended family members,” Sherwin Chualim, first vice president for vehicle sales operations at TMP, said.

“This has always been the strength of the Avanza, but for this 2022 release, expect even more value-for-money features on top of its striking style upgrades inside and out,” he said.

Ahead of the launch, Toyota’s authorized dealerships will start accepting inquiries and reservations for the new vehicle as early as March 1.

The new Avanza will be available in four grades and five colors.

TMP said the Avanza’s retail price will start at P813,000.

TMP is the country’s leading automotive firm.

In 2021, TMP’s total sales rose 29.6 percent to 129,667 units from 100,019 units in 2020.
