More accounts opened online at Robinsons Bank

MANILA, Philippines — More than 30,000 Filipinos opened bank accounts through the digital platform of Gokongwei-owned Robinsons Bank, further boosting the financial inclusion efforts of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).

Robinsons Bank was the first to launch an online bank account opening app called RBank Sign Up last year as many Filipinos opted to do everything online and from the safety of their homes.

Through the award-winning app that can be downloaded from the Google Play or App Store, Robinsons Bank allow clients to open a bank account online in just a matter of minutes.

Bank clients just need one ID and a mobile phone with internet connection to get started with the fast, easy, and hassle-free account opening. The bank account details can be received within minutes.

The Gokongwei-led bank also offers a range of products from a basic deposit account which only requires an opening balance of P100 to an IPONsurance savings account with free life insurance for a minimum average daily balance of P20,000.

RBank Sign Up has been named as the Service Innovation of the Year, while the GO!Salary Loan Online was recognized as the Consumer Finance Product of the Year.

RBank Sign Up earlier bagged numerous awards including the Omni-Experience Innovator Award from the International Data Corp. (IDC), the Most Innovative Retail Banking Product 2020 from the International Business Magazine, and Most Innovative Digital Banking Product 2021 from the World Economic Magazine.

RBank’s GO!Salary Loan Online program was able to resume its activities middle of last year during the height of the pandemic. The Global Economics recognized the program as the Most Innovative Digital Transformation Initiative in the Philippines last year.

Its end-to-end digital process significantly improved the experience of the bank’s corporate partners and customers as processing time significantly reduced to one to two working days from one to two weeks.
