GSIS partners with Bayad Center for loan payments

MANILA, Philippines — The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has tapped more than 40,000 Bayad Centers across the country to provide its members another facility for the payment of their loans.

According to the GSIS, its president and general manager Rolando Ledesma signed an agreement with CIS Bayad Center Inc. president and chief executive officer Lawrence Ferrer on Dec. 21, enabling the latter to collect loan payments from GSIS members in its branches nationwide.

The partnership aims to provide an accessible payment system amid the coronavirus pandemic, Macasaet said.

“Starting Jan. 22, 2021, GSIS members will be able to pay their GSIS loans at the Bayad Center nearest their home,” Macasaet said. “This is part of our continuing efforts to make our services fast and convenient.”

The GSIS chief said Meralco Bayad Center has over 40,000 outlets all over the country.

“We are happy to extend this payment solution to GSIS. It’s a good gift that you can give to your members. To GSIS members, we assure you that your hard-earned payments will reach the right hands,” Ferrer said.

The GSIS said members who may opt to pay through the Bayad Center facility include those who will pay their loan amortization in advance; have underpaid accounts; have delayed payment; or with accounts already in default.

GSIS members have to present a text notification received from the GSIS or loan balances displayed through eGSISMO to pay at their nearest Bayad Center. They must fill out a transaction slip, which will be validated by Bayad Center and will serve as proof of payment.

“Payments of GSIS members accepted at Bayad Center will be remitted to GSIS in real time. Payors will receive payment confirmation through SMS within 24 hours from receipt of the payment made,” the GSIS said.

Aside from the Bayad Center facility, members may also pay their loans through agency remittance or over-the-counter at any GSIS offices nationwide.
