PayMaya can now be used for civil registry documents

MANILA, Philippines — Filipinos can now pay for copies of their civil registry documents using online payment system PayMaya following its partnership with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

The additional option for paying for copies of civil registry documents such as birth, marriage, and death certificates is meant to expand contactless transactions amid the pandemic.

PSA said transacted payments made through PayMaya would be honored in PSA service outlets nationwide.

In the PSA central outlet on East Avenue, Quezon City, document requests paid for through PayMaya are also fast-tracked through designated cashier windows.

A QR Code will be made available in every designated payment counter for PayMaya transactions and a designated PSA personnel will assist all transacting PayMaya payors.

“This undertaking ensures the public that PSA will continue to adopt measures necessary to facilitate contactless, and cashless transactions for civil registry documents amidst the pandemic,” the PSA said.

“The PSA streamlined its payment transactions, and reduce long queues for civil registry document requests especially in this trying times,” it said.

Clients are nonetheless still advised to bring all the necessary requirements for smoother transactions.

Those requesting documents are advised to bring a valid ID, as well an authorization letter if he is claiming a document for his spouse, children or parents. Likewise, a photocopy of the document requested.

PSA said adding this digital payment option is its response to Republic Act   8792, also known as the “E-Commerce Act of 2000” and Republic Act  11032, or the “Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Services Delivery Act of 2018.”
