LT Group extends COVID support to public hospitals

MANILA, Philippines — LT Group Inc., the listed conglomerate of taipan Lucio Tan, continues to respond to the nation's efforts to contain the rapid spread of coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19 pandemic.

The company has expanded its support by boosting the capacity of hospitals to respond to the pandemic.

The group donated 40 ventilators, five PCR (polymerase chain reaction), two ambulances and one X-ray machine to different public hospitals all over the country.

It also donated 472,064 liters of ethyl alcohol under a disaster-relief program called Help Flows, part of the total 20,000 liters it committed to deliver to the Department of Health (DOH) – for distribution to various government medical facilities.

In terms of personal protective equipment, the company also donated 59,583 pieces of 101 thermal thermometers and four thermal scanners.

The group also partnered with local Filipino fastfood chain Binalot to cater meals and provide comfort and sustenance to the doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers.

LT Group also provided 135,860 liters of beverages including water, 157,197 meal packs, 47,601 pieces of canned goods and snacks and coffee for the military personnel manning the different borders.

All of these support and donations are vital to reduce the infection risk of the country's frontline healthcare workers and our uniformed police and military personnel implementing the enhanced community quarantine measures.

Help Flows is supported by LT Group member firms Asia Brewery, Inc., Eton Properties Philippines, Inc., PMFTC Inc.'s Embrace CSR program, Tanduay Distillers, Inc., Philippine National Bank and sister company Philippine Airlines.

As early as February 2020, the group has also been proactively coordinating with authorities to provide emergency support and to assist in providing critical medical and health supplies in its preparation and battle against COVID-19.
