Toyota provides transpo, fuel rebates to frontliners

Louella Desiderio - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. (TMPC) is providing assistance to medical frontliners and its customers during the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.

TMPC said it has given its customers a 30-day extension on payment for loans due within the quarantine period.

Expiring insurance policies under Toyota Insure and warranty coverages for Toyota vehicles during the lockdown have also been extended.

TMPC is also giving a 30-day grace period for Toyota vehicles scheduled for periodic maintenance service during the lockdown.

As part of efforts to help contain the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 or COIVD-19, TMPC has lent 47 of its vehicles to enable doctors and nurses to report for work.  It also lent vehicles to volunteer groups distributing personal protective equipment (PPE) to health care workers.

Aside from lending vehicles, TMPC is also giving front liners with Toyota Mastercard credit cards fuel rebates from Petron until April 30.

Through Toyota Motor Philippines Foundation, the company has also donated PPEs such as isolation gowns, surgical gowns, and surgical gloves to Santa Rosa Community hospital.

In addition, it provided rice and grocery packages to residents of some hard to reach areas and communities.

“In these challenging times, TMPC is one with our nation’s leaders, health care workers, frontliners and volunteer groups in fighting this pandemic. We continue to empower people through mobility and advocating for safety,” TMPC said.

TMPC is the country’s leading automotive firm, accounting for the largest share in vehicle sales.
