MANILA, Philippines — Strengthening its support to medical and business frontliners, Globe initiated a unique collaborative effort with its partner institutions in the healthcare and food industries, the result of which is a wonderful ecosystem that supports all partners.

The initiative aims to extend aid to healthcare frontliners around the country who have been leading the fight against COVID-19. Select partner hospitals were distributed free meal packages produced by partner food SMEs.

It also seeks to ensure continuity of operations and gains for local food businesses that have been affected by the onslaught of the pandemic.

The first batch of meal packages were provided by North Park Noodle House, Amber, Tuesday Kitchen, and Penong’s, and distributed from March 26 to 30 to Metro Antipolo Hospital and Medical Center in Rizal, St. Claire Hospital in Makati and San Pedro Hospital in Davao.

For succeeding roll outs, the initiative aims to provide 3,200 meal packages to healthcare workers at 34 more hospitals nationwide, particularly those caring for patients with confirmed cases such as Las Piñas Doctors Hospital, UniHealth Parañaque Hospital and Medical Center, and Perpetual Succor Hospital in Manila.

The meal packs across all partner restaurants are fully funded by Globe MyBusiness. In turn, restaurant partners provide free delivery of their meal packs to the partner hospitals.

“We are living at a time where solidarity and collaboration among individual citizens and institutions are needed the most,” said Ernest Cu, president and CEO at Globe.

“As we encourage and enable more of our customers to stay connected and #SafeAtHome, we would also provide unwavering support to the true heroes in this crisis - our medical and SME frontliners who choose to continue their work and take risks in service of the public,” Cu said.

Globe has also given all its business and enterprise clients nationwide a 30-day extension to settle their mobile and broadband bills to ensure their safety and convenience in light of the ongoing enhanced community quarantine.

Further, Globe myBusiness customers may avail free subscriptions and discounted offers to telecommuting and productivity platforms such as Zoom, Advanced Hangouts Meet Video Conferencing, GSuite and Office 365 to effectively move forward with their business continuity initiatives amid work from home arrangements.
