MANILA, Philippines — Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC) is making the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) toll free for all medical frontliners.

MPTC unit NLEX Corp. announced yesterday that it is offering free toll in NLEX and SCTEX for all medical fronliners for the duration of the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.

“This is to show our appreciation to medical frontliners for their dedication and commitment to provide essential services as the country fights the coronavirus disease,” NLEX said.

To avail of the toll-free privilege in the expressways, NLEX said medical professionals would need to present their PRC ID and secure the toll free RFID sticker or have their existing RFID sticker enrolled in the free pass program.

The company said enrollment and installation would be done in its NLEX Balintawak Customer Service Center from Monday to Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“We hope that through this program, we are able to help and give back to our heroes fighting the COVID-19,” NLEX said.

San Miguel Corp. (SMC) has also waived toll on all its expressways for medical front liners in support of their sacrifices in the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

SMC’s toll road network include STAR Tollway, South Luzon Expressway Skyway, NAIAX and the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway.
