SM Prime to open 2nd Olongapo mall

MANILA, Philippines — SM Prime Holdings Inc. (SM Prime) is further expanding its mall footprint in Northern Luzon which is the fast growing regional economic corridor.

The company will be opening its newest mall in Olongapo City, the SM City Olongapo Central.  This will be its second lifestyle mall in the first-class highly urbanized city.

The new mall in Olongapo, Zambales would add 72,000 square meters  of gross floor area (GFA) to SM’s mall portfolio, said SM Prime president Jeffrey Lim.

Lim said SM Prime decided to expand in the city because it is a fast growing city.

“Olongapo City remains as one of the fastest growing cities in Central Luzon creating a wonderful synergy on economical and sustainable development.

“SM City Olongapo Central will not only enhance the beauty of this thriving city, and its province, but will also create more jobs and business opportunities to locals who aspire to grow with our company,” he said.

It will be a four-story shopping, dining and entertainment mall located  along the bustling Rizal Avenue in Barangay East Tapinac.

Lim said the mall would have its anchor brands such as SM Supermarket, The SM Store, Our Home, Watsons, Uniqlo, Surplus, Sport Central, SM Appliance Center, Ace Hardware, Banco de Oro and China Bank.

To date, SM City Olongapo Central is already 85 percent lease-awarded.

The mall is envisioned to serve as an ideal avenue for communities from neighboring towns and provinces to converge and enjoy a refreshing and holistic urban lifestyle experience topped with modern amenities.
