Volkswagen opens new dealership in Laguna

Louella Desiderio - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Volkswagen Philippines has opened a new dealership in Laguna to expand its presence in the country and generate more sales.

In a statement, Volkswagen Philippines said it partnered with the Lica Auto Group for the new dealership along the Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Road.

The new dealership is Volkswagen Philippines’ first in Southern Luzon, an area seeing strong economic growth and serving as home to nearly eight million individuals 20 years and above who are part of the vehicle-buying market.

“We see tremendous opportunities to grow our customer base here, while contributing our share to the region’s economic development. Establishing our eighth Volkswagen dealership in the country, at the economic epicenter of a developing phenomenon that is the CALABARZON area, was a very easy decision to make. And in collaboration with the Lica Auto Group, we are able to establish our presence at the soonest possible time in this very exciting market. Now, the region’s residents and enterprises will have more access to the German engineering, build quality, and driving experience of Volkswagen automobiles and the accompanying Volkswagen after-sales services and support,” Volkswagen Philippines president Felipe Estrella III said.

For his part, Lica Auto Group managing director Rene Limcaoco said the partnership and new dealership makes Volkswagen more accessible to buyers and owners in the region.

The opening of new dealerships is in line with Volkswagen Philippines’ goal to achieve higher sales this year.

Estrella said earlier Santa Rosa would be the first location of the four new dealerships to be opened this year.

Apart from Santa Rosa, Volkswagen Philippines has dealers in Bonifacio Global City, Quezon City, Pampanga, Alabang, Cebu, Iloilo and Bacolod.

Estrella said Volkswagen Philippines is aiming for at least 50 percent growth in sales this year.

Last year, the company sold 1,363 vehicles.

Volkswagen Philippines is part of the Ayala Group’s automotive portfolio.

Lica Auto Group, meanwhile, is under the Lica Group which is involved in the following businesses: automotive, real estate and hospitality, financial services, and office systems.
